This is how the ashram got its name Kainchi Dham

Neem Karoli Baba left his body and took Mahasamadhi on 10 September 1973. After taking Samadhi, his ashes were installed in the Dham itself. After this, the temple was constructed on a large scale from the year 1974. The road leading to Kainchi Dham Ashram looks like a scissor with two sharp turns, hence the name of this ashram was Kainchi Dham. Neem Karoli Baba was a devotee of Hanuman ji. For this reason, he built 108 temples of Hanuman ji in his life.

Before Kainchi Dham there was a dense forest

Neem Karoli Baba had attainments. It is said that once in the year 1962, Baba was coming from Ranikhet towards Bhawali, when he stopped the car and came to the other side of Shipra river. Baba asked the people accompanying him about the cave and Dhuni of Sombari Maharaj situated at this place. At that time there was a dense forest at this place, but Baba had marked this place (today Kainchi Dham is situated) for the Hanuman temple. After some time, after cleaning this place, Hanuman temple was established here and then gradually other temples were established.
