Jagannath Rath Yatra, one of the most revered religious festivals of the country, is being celebrated with great devotion today, in which Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra are taken out in a huge procession on lavishly decorated chariots, attended by lakhs of devotees from India and abroad.

Preparations for Rath Yatra in Puri

Meanwhile, the three sacred chariots are to be brought from the Rathkhaala in front of the Jagannath temple in Puri today after traditional rituals. Marking the final preparations before the commencement of the Yatra, the Ajna Mala BJ ritual will be followed by the Nandighosh of Lord Jagannath, Taladhwaj of Lord Balabhadra and Darpadalan chariots of Goddess Subhadra.
