This whole issue started a few days ago, when the Bihar government had withdrawn the Z-Plus security of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Along with this, Rabri Devi was also given a notice to vacate the government residence located at 10 Circular Road, Patna. This bungalow has now been allotted to Bihar Minister Nand Kishore Ram. Whereas, Tejashwi Yadav had got Y-Plus category security.

  • Speaking to ANI, Shakti Yadav accused the state government of deliberately targeting the Yadav family and trying to humiliate some of the most prominent political leaders of Bihar.
  • He said, “Tejashwi Yadav ji has returned all his security. Take the security. No security is required… Whatever security he had, he has announced to return it. He will go without security.”
  • According to him, this decision came after Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi had sent back the security personnel deployed outside their residence after the government changed security arrangements.
  • Shakti Yadav raised questions on the security policy of the state and asked that when the security of senior RJD leaders is being reduced, then why are many BJP and NDA leaders being given security.

  • He said, “I want to ask, such big leaders of the country, Lalu Prasad ji, Mrs. Rabri Devi ji, who is also the leader of opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council. Which security committee is this? How have Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vivek Thakur, Sanjay Singh, Neeraj Kumar, Umesh, Leshi Singh, all of them been given security?”
  • The RJD leader also launched a scathing attack on the Nitish Kumar-led government regarding the law and order situation in the state.
  • He sarcastically said, “Take it, this is a 16-acre residence. Provide full security there. Anyway, the law and order situation in Bihar is bad. Deploy security personnel there.”

Controversy going on regarding Rabri Devi bungalow?

  • Warning the government against political vendetta, Yadav said, “You people have deliberately tried to humiliate this family. What do you want? Should we get them shot in public? This kind of hate politics is not done.”
  • This dispute is also going on regarding 10 Circular Road Bungalow. The Bihar government says that Rabri Devi has already been given an alternative residence on Harding Road as the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council.
  • Earlier, Rabri Devi had opposed the move, saying, “They can call the force to vacate the place, but I will not vacate the place.”
