IPL 2026: CSK to get MS Dhoni boost soon as star player nears full fitness

New Delhi: In what comes as a good news for all the fans of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), stalwart MS Dhoni might soon be seen in the yellow colours. In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), Dhoni is yet to play a match as he was ruled out of the first few games due to a calf strain ahead of the beginning of the 19th edition.

The Super Kings have played a total of five matches so far, winning two of them recently after a horrific start to their campaign. The first three losses hit the five-time champions very hard but they bounced back ultimately to win their last two clashes.

MS Dhoni close to full fitness

Final call to be taken on Thursday

As per a RevSportz report, Dhoni is expected to gain full fitness and might be available for CSK’s next match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 18, Saturday. The final call regarding the same would be taken on Thursday, mentions the report.

‘MS Dhoni to take a call tomorrow morning on whether he will travel to Hyderabad for CSK’s match against SRH on Saturday.’

Earlier after being ruled out of first few matches, it was expected that Dhoni will feature in the clash against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 11, but he didn’t. Meanwhile in the absence of Dhoni, Sanju Samson has taken over the wicketkeeping duties in IPL 2026.

In the team’s last match against bottom-placed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), spinner Noor Ahmad starred for the side with a match-winning spell after initial surge from the batters as they defated the three-time winners convincingly.
