Union Minister Mr. Kishan Reddy on Wednesday said the country will host ‘India Mining Week’ for the first time, which will provide a platform for mining sector stakeholders, investors and technology companies.
Addressing reporters in Delhi, Reddy said the Government of India will for the first time bring together all stakeholders in the mining sector, including companies making new investments and firms working on new technologies. He said, “‘India Mining Week’ is going to be organized for the first time in India. All the stakeholders of India’s mining sector, who want to make fresh investments and new technology companies – all of them will be given a platform for the first time by the Government of India.”
Improvements in mining sector
Highlighting the reforms undertaken in the sector, the Union Minister said that reforms have been carried out in the coal and mining sector in the last 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said India is producing one billion tonnes of coal for the first time and the government has launched a Rs 34,000 crore mission for critical minerals.
He further said that a new mission has also been started for coal gasification. Reddy said that mining companies from around the world as well as mining countries will be invited to participate in this event.
Formal announcement of ‘India Mining Week 2026’
Earlier, he formally announced ‘India Mining Week 2026’, the country’s largest conference-cum-exhibition for the mining and minerals sector. It is scheduled to be held from 15 to 17 November at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre. At the official inauguration of the summit, Union Minister Reddy along with Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey unveiled the logo and brochure of the summit.
According to the Ministry of Coal and Mines, this three-day summit will be organized under the theme of “Stronger Resources, Smarter Mining, Sustainable Tomorrow”. It reflects India’s vision to create a technologically advanced, globally competitive and environmentally responsible mining sector. India Mining Week 2026 will serve as a premier platform for dialogue, collaboration and business engagement across the entire mining value chain. (ANI)
