Argentina did this after winning the semi-finals
Jovani Lo Celso is seen with the Falkland Islands banner after the 2-1 win over England. Through the message written on the banner, Argentina was asserting its claim on the Falkland Islands. It was written on it- ‘Las Malvinas Son Argentinas’. According to the report, in some of the pictures that surfaced after the match, Celso was holding the ban alone and in some with team defender Nicolas Otamendi.
Argentina may be punished for its actions
After the actions of the Argentinian player, the International Football Federation Board i.e. IFAB and FIFA may come into action. She can take action against the Argentinian team. The International Football Federation Board and FIFA together make the laws of football. There are strict guidelines regarding showing political party flags, messages or any kind of sign during their match. This is a big reason why they can be strict with Argentina.
