India vs Afghanistan: The ODI series between India and Afghanistan has ended. India made a clean sweep in this 3 ODI series. But after the end of that series, ICC has strongly reprimanded Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi. This rebuke has been imposed on the Afghan captain by the ICC for his mistake in the third and last ODI of the series played on June 20 in Chennai. The big thing is that Hashmatullah Shahidi made that mistake after receiving the official warning.
Apart from reprimanding, ICC added 1 demerit point
ICC not only reprimanded Hashmatullah Shahidi but also added one demerit point to his account. The ICC found Shahidi guilty of Level 1 under Cricket’s Code of Conduct and said that the mistake he made was a violation of Article 2.10.10.
First mistake in 24 months
According to the ICC, Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, despite being given an official warning in the third ODI against India, was repeatedly seen running on the pitch at an area where he could cause damage. This is Shahidi’s first mistake of violating rules in the last 24 months.
Hashmatullah Shahidi was warned twice
Before being reprimanded by the ICC and adding one demerit point, Hashmatullah Shahidi was given an official warning twice not to run on the pitch while batting. He was given this warning for the first time in the 31st over of Afghanistan’s innings and again in the 40th over, when he repeated the same mistake. The result of the same mistake of the captain was that the Afghanistan team had to face a penalty of 5 runs in the match.
Afghan captain admitted his mistake in front of the match referee
Hashmatullah Shahidi has admitted his mistake in front of referee Ranjan Madugalle of India-Afghanistan third ODI match, after which there is no need for any further action in this matter.
Afghan team lost the series 0-3
Afghanistan had to face 0-3 defeat in the ODI series against India. They lost the first ODI by 7 wickets. In the second ODI, we saw a huge defeat of 170 runs and in the third and last ODI played in Chennai, we faced a crushing defeat of 9 wickets with 128 balls remaining.
