Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift unveiled at Rs 55.7 lakh; get 690 km of range

New Delhi: Hyundai has launched the updated Ioniq 5 in India, priced at Rs 55.7 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing a set of revisions to the electric SUV covering battery, technology, safety and even design. The facelift also brings a bigger battery pack, updated styling elements and new features.

Developed on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 5 continues as the brand’s flagship electric offering in India. The biggest change comes with the bigger 84kWh battery pack, which replaces the previous 72.6kWh unit. Hyundai has claimed an ARAI-certified range of up to 690 km, which makes it one of the highest in the EVs presently on sale in India.

Hyundai has not revealed the power figures of the India-spec model, though globally, the rear-wheel-drive version with the 84 kWh battery makes 229 bhp and 350 Nm of torque.

The back comes with a redesigned bumper, a new roof spoiler and revised V-garnish lighting elements, while the pixel-based signature remains unchanged.

The facelift Ioniq 5 comes in four exterior colours, Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey and Optic White, and this is paired with the Obsidian Black interior theme.

On the inside, the Ioniq 5 comes with a dual-screen layout comprising two 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and the instrument cluster. The update brings a new three-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated 4-dot design and a heating function. The centre console has also been revised and now comes with more physical controls for functions like seat heating and ventilation. The wireless charging pad has also been repositioned, along with updated cup holders as well.
