In Devbhoomi Himachal Pradesh, criminal cases against girls, girls and women are not showing any signs of decreasing. The latest case has come to light in the district of the state. Following the complaint of kidnapping and alleged rape of a minor girl here, the police have registered a case and started investigation.

The young man forcibly blocked the way

According to the information received, a girl was going towards the market with her friend in Churah sub-division of Chamba district. Meanwhile, on the way, a young man forcibly stopped him and took him towards the forest. After getting information about the incident from her friend, the family members immediately complained to the police.

The accused is said to be absconding since the incident, in whose search the police are continuously conducting raids. As soon as the complaint was received, the police took immediate action, formed a special team and conducted a search operation in the area with the help of local people. However, the accused managed to escape from the spot before the police arrived.

Case registered under POCSO Act

After this the police raided the possible hideouts of the accused. During the search, an unlicensed gun was recovered from his house, which has been taken into custody by the police. The legality of the recovered weapon and aspects related to it are also being investigated.

The police have recorded the statement of the victim and registered a case under the POCSO Act and have started necessary legal action. Also, all the facts and evidence related to the case are being collected. Officials say that the investigation is being conducted in a fair and thorough manner and efforts are on to arrest the accused soon.

Chamba Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Saklani confirmed the matter and said that the police is investigating keeping various aspects in mind. He said that continuous raids are being conducted to search for the absconding accused and soon he will be brought under the grip of law.
