Indian team’s fast bowler Harshit Rana was out of the England tour due to injury. Harshit, who was out of the field for about 5 months due to a knee injury, had returned to the team after the tour of Ireland and England but got injured in the middle and was ruled out. Now a report has revealed that Harshit’s weight had increased a lot in the recent past, which was one of the possible reasons for this injury.

Harshit was injured during the third match of the T20 series against England. He had a problem in his right hamstring, due to which he was out of that series. The effects of this injury were visible further and he had to sit out of the ODI series also. This is Harshit’s second injury in 6 months but the previous break is proving to be a major reason for the new injury.

In the PTI report, quoting BCCI sources, it has been revealed that when Harshit returned after the previous injury, his weight had increased a lot. He suffered a knee injury during the warm-up match of the T20 World Cup in February, due to which he was ruled out of this tournament and then IPL 2026.

It has been told in the report that when Rana returned to the team from the Ireland tour, his weight was higher than before. Ultimately this became the reason for his hamstring injury, due to which he could play only 5 matches in this entire tour. Now it is not clear at the moment when he will return.

Obviously, this is going to increase the tension of Team India, Selection Committee and BCCI because Harshit is considered important for the World Cup next year. Not only this, Harshit’s discipline regarding fitness also comes under question because it is in his hands to keep his weight under control. If this situation does not change then it may be difficult for Harshit to retain his place in the team.
