Delhi Cabinet approved ‘Delhi Lakshmi Yojana’. Eligible women will receive ₹2,500 every month. Online applications will start from August 1 and the first installment is expected to be received by Rakshabandhan.
Delhi government has taken a big step towards the economic empowerment of women. ‘Delhi Lakshmi Yojana’ has been approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Under this scheme, eligible women will be given financial assistance of ₹ 2,500 every month. The government says that this will help women become financially self-reliant and will also strengthen the financial condition of the family.
Online application will start from August 1
According to the government, the online portal for the scheme will be launched from August 1. Eligible women will be able to apply through the portal. After the application, the documents and eligibility will be verified by the concerned department. After completion of verification, the benefits of the scheme will be given to the eligible beneficiaries.
The government has not yet released the detailed eligibility criteria and complete list of required documents. In such a situation, one will have to wait for official guidelines before applying.

First installment can be received till Rakshabandhan
The Delhi government aims to release the first installment to the eligible beneficiaries of the first phase by Rakshabandhan. If the process is completed as per the stipulated timeline, the first assistance amount of ₹2,500 will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of thousands of women.
The government believes that this scheme will not only increase the economic participation of women but will also support them in daily needs and household expenses.

‘Delhi Lakshmi Yojana’ is being seen as a major social welfare scheme for women in the capital. For the successful implementation of the scheme, a transparent online application and verification process will be adopted, so that the benefits can reach the genuinely eligible women on time.
