los angeles [अमेरिका]July 9 (ANI): Godzilla is back with a roar! The makers have released a new teaser of the much-awaited sequel of the popular Kaiju franchise, ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’. It is a direct sequel to the Oscar-winning Japanese film ‘Godzilla Minus One’. The sequel’s story picks up two years after the events of the first film, continuing the story of the Shikishima family as they prepare to face a new catastrophe.
According to Variety, the official synopsis states that the giant monster is bigger and scarier than ever as Godzilla now sets his sights on New York City.
“I think Godzilla could withstand even a thermonuclear attack,” a character says at the beginning of the teaser, and further warns that “This is another moral line that humanity should not cross.”
Cast and director of the film
Actors Ryunosuke Kamiki, who played a former kamikaze pilot who later had to defeat Godzilla, and Minami Hamabe, who became his wife, will reprise their roles in this upcoming film.
‘Godzilla Minus One’ was the 37th film in the ‘Godzilla’ franchise and the 33rd produced by Toho (the Japanese entertainment company that originally created this iconic kaiju creature). Writer and director Takashi Yamazaki is returning for the sequel.

The first film grossed US$116 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Japanese ‘Godzilla’ film of all time and Japan’s third-highest release of 2023.
At the 2023 Academy Awards, ‘Godzilla Minus One’ became the first non-English language film to win the Best Visual Effects award, defeating Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, ‘The Creator’, ‘Napoleon’ and ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning’.
