Apart from this, Malihabadi Dussehri, Banganapalli mango, Appemidi mango have also got GI tag. All these varieties of mango are known for their distinctive taste and aroma.
According to USDA, apart from fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, vitamin C is found in good quantity in mango. It is also a source of folate and it also contains Vitamin A.
GI tagged oranges
If it is about orange and the name of Nagpur is not mentioned then it is not possible. Orange from Nagpur, Maharashtra is known for its balanced sour-sweet taste and rich juice. Surkha guava, grown in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has been given the GI tag for its pink colour, while this guava also has a special identity for its amazing aroma. These guavas are much softer than other guavas.
Despite being a tropical fruit, guava contains high amounts of Vitamin C. 100 grams of guava provides 228 mg of Vitamin C, hence it is helpful in boosting your immunity and keeping your skin healthy and being a good source of fiber, it also helps in digestion. Many minerals including calcium are also found in guava.
Kachai Lemon of Manipur
The demand for lemon increases significantly in the market during the summer season. This fruit rich in Vitamin C is known for its freshness, while its strong sourness makes it special. Katchai lemon of Manipur has received GI tag. It produces a lot of juice and it is believed that it also contains high amount of Vitamin C.
Lemon is helpful in providing relief from many health problems like nausea, weakness, fatigue, headache caused by heat. Apart from Vitamin C, it contains B complex vitamins like B6 and folate. So calcium, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin A are also found in it.
