One Piece franchise gets two new films, ‘God Valley’ and ‘Baad’

Toei Animation has announced two new films for the ‘One Piece’ franchise, ‘One Piece: God Valley’ (2027) and ‘One Piece: Baad’ (2029). The story also details new casting for the third season of the Netflix live-action adaptation.

The makers of the anime ‘One Piece’ have announced two films for the franchise which will be released in 2027 and 2029. Toei Animation shared the announcement of the films on its X. About God Valley

According to the manga of One Piece, God Valley was an island in the West Blue unaffiliated with the World Government, where the so-called God Valley Incident took place. It is notably the birthplace of powerful characters including Shanks and his twin brother, Saint Figarland Shamrock. In addition, the island is the birthplace of the notorious villain Rocks D. Xebec and was a safe haven for the Davy Family, including Rocks’ son, Marshall D. Teach, in the series.

‘One Piece’ is one of the longest-running anime series, which revolves around Luffy who aspires to become the Pirate King of the World by finding a long-hidden treasure called ‘One Piece.’ Meanwhile, the anime has also received a live-action adaptation on Netflix. Two seasons have already aired on the streaming platform.

New Actors for Season 3

Netflix has expanded the cast of its live-action series ‘One Piece’ Season 3, officially titled ‘One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta’, with four new actors joining the upcoming season, according to Variety. Emilio Sakraya, known for “Rheingold”, will portray Koza, while Omid Abtahi from “The Mandalorian” will play Toto. Jamie Ward of “The Gentlemen” has been cast as Pell, and Nabeel Khan, known for “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”, will essay the role of Chaka.

Returning Cast

The upcoming season will see the return of Inaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Mikaela Hoover as Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra, according to Variety.

More New Characters Introduced

Season 3 will also introduce new characters, including Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Xolo Mariduena as Portgas D. Ace, Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger and Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1, according to Variety. (ANI)
