Former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh and co-founder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Nadendla Bhaskara Rao passed away at a private hospital on Wednesday, April 22 at 90.
He was undergoing treatment for ailments related to old age at a superspecialty hospital in Hyderaabd, a statement from Jana Sena said.
His son Nadendla Manohar is a senior leader of Jana Sena and the Minister of Civil Supplies, food and consumer affairs in the TDP-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh.
Leaders across parties expressed condolences on his demise. His last rites will be held at Panjagutta crematorium, as per reports.
Bhaskara Rao was first elected as an MLA from Congress in 1978 and briefly served as the chief minister in 1984. He held ministerial portfolios during the tenure of NT Rama Rao, Marri Chenna Reddy and T Anjaiah
