So far, 14 bodies have been recovered in the massive fire that broke out in a multi-storey building in Aliganj area of Lucknow. DGP and senior officers are present at the spot. The massive fire incident that took place in Aliganj area of Lucknow on Saturday has shocked the entire city. The fire in a multi-storey building took a catastrophic turn within a short time, after which there was chaos on the spot. So far, bodies of 14 people have been recovered in the accident, while relief and rescue teams are continuously carrying out search operations inside the building.
It is being told that the fire broke out in the building where a pet shop was operating below, while other activities were going on on the upper floors. After the fire, smoke spread throughout the building, making it difficult for the people inside to get out.
Many agencies engaged in relief operation
Considering the seriousness of the incident, the administration started a large-scale relief and rescue operation. Fire brigade, police and other disaster relief teams are continuously deployed at the spot. So far 11 people have been evacuated from the building. During the rescue operation, teams carrying stretchers were seen rapidly entering the building.
Uttar Pradesh DGP Rajeev Krishna and Additional Chief Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad have also reached the spot. At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak is already present at the spot and monitoring the relief operations. The administration says that the search operation will continue until the entire building is investigated.
Chief Minister Yogi took cognizance
As soon as information about the accident was received, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took immediate cognizance of the matter. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite relief and rescue operations. Besides, special emphasis has been laid on providing better medical facilities to the injured.
The Chief Minister has instructed the administration to remain vigilant at every level and continuously monitor the relief work. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured and said that all possible assistance should be provided to the affected families. At present the cause of the fire has not been known. Administration teams are busy investigating the matter. As the relief operation is progressing, new information related to the accident is coming to light.
