Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is going to launch WhatsApp platform soon for the convenience of the members. Its objective is to increase outreach and make services easier. Members will be able to send a message by writing Hello to EPFO’s verified WhatsApp number on their registered mobile number. After this, menu options will be available in local language, through which information like PF balance, last 5 transactions, claim status can be easily obtained.
24×7 services will be available through AI chatbot. Especially the pending cases of PMVBRY and Aadhaar related problems will be resolved on WhatsApp only. This initiative is being started keeping in mind the widespread use of WhatsApp in India.

Crores of employed people will get benefits
EPFO is already providing complaint resolution facility through WhatsApp helpline. This service is available in regional offices across the country. Under EPFO 3.0, the organization is continuously digitalizing its services. In the coming time, facilities like PF withdrawal through UPI and ATM can also be started. Apart from this, work is also going on on auto claim settlement and faster processing. There are crores of EPFO members in the country and with the launch of WhatsApp based service, people will have less need to visit offices. Especially the employees living in small towns and remote areas can get great relief from this.
Pension also expected to increase
EPFO can provide great relief to crores of employed people of the country. According to media reports, EPFO is considering increasing the minimum pension. It is believed that the minimum pension limit can be increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. In fact, in view of rising inflation and changing standards of living, there has been a demand for a long time that the minimum pension limit should be increased.
