- The first and most important rule is. Your UAN should be active and linked to Aadhaar. Along with this, details like name, date of birth and gender must be same in EPFO, Aadhaar and bank records. Any kind of mismatch can get the claim rejected.
- Another important aspect is bank details. Your bank account should be active and linked to UAN with correct IFSC code. Claims also get stuck due to not updating the changed IFSC after bank merger. At the same time, if the duration of employment is less than 5 years, then it is necessary to link PAN, otherwise more TDS may be deducted.
- The third big reason is employer verification. Many times employees make online claims, but KYC approval is not received from the employer or the documents are not submitted on time. According to EPFO rules, it is mandatory to submit the required documents within 15 days of filing the claim.
- Fourth, after changing jobs, it is very important to merge the old PF accounts with the new UAN. If this is not done, the record remains incomplete and the claim may be rejected.
