After coming to India about two years ago and defeating Team India in the Test series, New Zealand now defeated England at home. New Zealand, captained by Tom Latham, defeated host England by a huge margin of 160 runs in the third and last Test in Nottingham and thus won the Test series 2-1. With this victory, New Zealand also leveled the score of its previous defeat against England at home.
Monday 29 June was the last day of this Test match at Trent Bridge Stadium and England had to score 170 runs to win. He had only 6 wickets left, in which star batsman Joe Root was the biggest hope. But at the very beginning of the day, 2 wickets including Joe Root fell in a single over. In this over of pacer Nathan Smith, first Emilio Gay was caught out by the wicketkeeper and then Joe Root was run out. With this, England’s defeat seemed certain.
