Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, on the occasion of World Environment Day, started the state-wide green cooperation campaign under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign by planting an Ashoka sapling at the Apex Bank Headquarters premises in Bhopal. Under this campaign, tree plantation programs will be organized in Apex Bank Headquarters, all District Cooperative Banks and every Primary Cooperative Society (PEX) of the state. The Chief Minister said that with the aim of promoting environmental protection and public participation, this campaign will be run on a large scale in the entire state.
Under Harit Sahakar Abhiyan, 1 lakh saplings will be planted by June 21.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that during the special campaign running from 5th June World Environment Day to 21st June World Yoga Day, one lakh saplings will be planted across the state through cooperative institutions. He said that ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign has been launched on the occasion of the beginning of the 13th year of good governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This campaign will become a major medium for environmental protection as well as public participation.
Government’s focus on increasing milk production, farmers’ income increasing
The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly moving towards becoming a milk capital. Farmers of the state are adopting milk production as an effective means of increasing income. The economic condition of farmers has strengthened due to increase in milk production. He said that the state government has set a target of 20 percent increase in milk production. Referring to the Amul model, he said that the cooperative based system has shown a new path to prosperity to the farmers. The state government is also promoting milk production through Sanchi.
Sugarcane farmers and horticulture sector will get a boost
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government is also encouraging horticulture crops to increase the income of farmers. Along with this, work is being done on a plan to establish a sugar factory in Kolaras area to provide better opportunities to the sugarcane producing farmers. He said that with this, local farmers will get better prices for their produce and employment opportunities will also increase in the area.
New records made in irrigation, electricity and wheat purchase
The Chief Minister said that the state government is expanding the irrigation area through the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal project. Farmers are being provided electricity for irrigation during the day, which is strengthening farming. He said that Madhya Pradesh has made a new record this year in the field of wheat production and procurement. Last time 78 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was purchased, whereas in the year 2026, 104 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured. A total of Rs 2625 has been paid to the farmers by giving them a bonus of Rs 40 per quintal along with the minimum support price. Apart from this, soybean farmers have also been given the benefit of Bhavantar Yojana.
Strict action will be taken against those who commit irregularities in PEX
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav clearly said that if officers or employees are found committing irregularities in any Primary Cooperative Society (PEC), strict action will be taken against them. However, this will not be allowed to affect the farmers associated with the committee. He said that action would be taken only against the guilty person and not against the entire institution. The government is fully committed to protecting the interests of farmers and their economic progress.

During the programme, the Chief Minister was honored by presenting him a basket of mangoes. On this occasion, Principal Secretary DP Ahuja, Apex Bank Chairman Mahendra Singh, NABARD Managing Director Manoj and many senior officers, employees and representatives of the cooperative sector were present.
