Indian passport and visa applicants in Dubai will need to plan ahead. The Consulate General of India in Dubai will temporarily shut its consulate complex from July 17 to July 19, 2026, as local authorities carry out road maintenance work.
The closure means passport, visa, and attestation services at the Dubai Consulate will remain unavailable throughout the three days.
Services Resume on July 20
Regular services will restart on Monday, July 20, 2026. The Consulate has also confirmed that appointments for July 20 will become available for booking from 8:00 pm on July 19.
If your passport renewal, visa application, or document attestation is due this weekend, it makes sense to reschedule now rather than risk unnecessary delays.
Abu Dhabi Remains Open
There is one important exception. Passport, visa, and attestation services at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi will continue to operate on Friday, July 17. Indian nationals who urgently need consular assistance may consider using the Abu Dhabi mission where applicable.
This is becoming a familiar pattern across busy diplomatic missions. Short operational closures for maintenance are increasingly scheduled in advance, giving travellers time to adjust rather than face last-minute disruptions.

Travelobiz Take
We think this is a practical update every Indian in the UAE should know. I would avoid scheduling consular visits this weekend and book appointments as soon as the July 19 evening window opens.
