Delhi Police arrests constable accused of killing labourer in Dwarka

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested head constable Neeraj in connection with a firing incident in Dwarka that left a labourer dead. The incident took place in Jafarpur Kalan village on the outskirts of Dwarka near the Haryana border.

According to police sources, the incident occurred around 2 am when a group of labourers were partying. An argument broke out over loud noise, which escalated into violence. The accused constable allegedly opened fire at the group, leading to the death of one labourer.

Dwarka firing under probe

Police said the constable lives on the main road in Jafarpur Kalan, while the labourers were staying inside the colony. Investigators are examining whether the accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The body of the deceased will be handed over to the family after post mortem.

Karol Bagh shooting leaves one injured

In another case, a man was injured in a firing incident in Karol Bagh. The shooting took place between 2.30 am and 3 am near Kalka Das Chowk on Faiz Road.

Police received information from Lady Hardinge Medical College and Hospital about a man with a gunshot injury. The victim, identified as Rohit from Than Singh Nagar in Anand Parbat, is under observation and has shared initial details about the suspects.

Officials confirmed that the area falls under Karol Bagh Police Station. A case of attempt to murder has been registered. A forensic team inspected the site and recovered two empty cartridges and one live round, suggesting that three shots were fired.

Burari stabbing: three minors held

In a separate incident in north Delhi’s Burari area, a 22 year old man was stabbed to death by three minors after a dispute. Police said the victim had recently been involved in a quarrel with one of the accused.

A PCR call was received around 8.50 pm reporting that a man had been stabbed near Kamal Vihar. A police team reached the spot and found blood stains and a knife at the scene.

The victim, identified as Pankaj, was taken to a nearby government hospital by his family, where doctors declared him brought dead. His body was later shifted to the mortuary. He is survived by his parents and sister.

Police said all three accused have been apprehended and further investigation is ongoing.
