The aim of this campaign is to increase greenery in Delhi and deal with air pollution. For this, through the recently launched ‘Green Drive Portal’, an appeal has been made to the common people to actively participate in it.

Announcing the project, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the government is fulfilling its commitment to plant 70 lakh trees in the city. This tree planting campaign is part of a larger strategy to fight pollution, improve the environment and make Delhi a healthy city.
Common people can also connect with ‘Green Drive Portal’
Common citizens can also become a part of this campaign. For this, they will have to register by visiting the ‘Green Drive Portal’, where they can do all this:
- booking slots, planting saplings
- Getting free saplings from government nursery
- Involvement in community tree planting campaigns
- Request for ‘Tree Chariot’
- Joining as ‘Delhi Green Warriors’ (DGW)
Officials said volunteers may also be called for future tree plantation programs across the city.
