Authorities said departments have been asked to maintain regular oversight of infrastructure and civic arrangements, particularly in areas that directly affect residents’ daily lives. Surprise inspections are also being used to identify delays, maintenance gaps, and operational issues across different public sectors.
The administration stated that the focus of these inspections is not only to review preparedness and functioning but also to ensure visible results at the ground level. Civic issues such as drainage, road maintenance, and cleanliness often become major concerns during peak summer and monsoon seasons in Delhi, leading to public complaints and traffic disruptions.
Government officials said regular inspections are intended to improve coordination between departments and strengthen accountability in public service delivery. The monitoring exercise also includes reviews of healthcare and education facilities to assess infrastructure conditions and operational efficiency.
Large urban centres such as Delhi regularly face challenges linked to population pressure, infrastructure maintenance, and civic management. Administrative inspections are often used by governments to track progress, address complaints, and evaluate the implementation of public welfare measures across departments.
