Why Diljit Dosanjh Didn’t Attend Main Vaapas Aaunga Trailer Launch?

Celebrated Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is all set to weave his magic on the silver screen once again with  , starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari in lead roles. Set in the pre-partition era, the romantic drama is slated to release in theatres on June 12. Ahead of the big release, the film’s trailer was launched at an event in Mumbai on Tuesday. While Vedang and Sharvari attended the event, Diljit did not. However, in a special video message, he explained why he was unable to attend the launch. Assuring fans that “Main Bhi Vaapas Aaunga,” the Punjabi singer and actor also urged everyone to shower love on this Imtiaz Ali directorial.

Why Diljit Dosanjh Didn’t Attend Main Vaapas Aaunga Trailer Launch?

The Punjabi rockstar is currently busy touring the United States. Amid his history-making sold-out shows, Diljit could not attend the trailer launch of Main Vaapas Aaunga due to his professional commitments.

In the video message in Punjabi, he greeted everyone and expressed his excitement over the trailer of Main Vaapas Aaunga. He shared that he could not attend the event because he was in Texas, where his show for the night had already sold out.

He added that he was attending to some work there and asked everyone to take care of themselves. Diljit further said that he would return soon and urged fans to enjoy the trailer. He also requested people to share it, whether they liked it or not, adding that it was, after all, an Imtiaz Ali film.

“Jaldi Main Bhi Vaapas Aaunga (I will also come back soon),” he concluded.

About Main Vaapas Aaunga

The trailer of  largely revolves around Dosanjh’s character, who shares a deep bond with his grandfather Keenu, played by Naseeruddin Shah. His one final wish is to visit Sargodha in Pakistan. Determined to fulfil his grandfather’s wish, Diljit’s character begins uncovering the past, which slowly reveals Keenu’s incomplete love story with Jiya. The flashback sequences feature Vedang Raina and Sharvari as the younger Keenu and Jiya, who were torn apart during the partition.

Speaking about the movie at the trailer launch, Imtiaz said that Main Vaapas Aaunga is a deeply personal tale of love and longing that had stayed alive in someone’s heart for 78 years after partition. He added that the film was inspired by several stories he had heard from the older generation who had witnessed history firsthand.
