Dayanand Shetty Makes Shocking Revelations About Bollywood’s Extravagant Pet Culture

In a candid revelation that has sent ripples across the entertainment industry, veteran actor Dayanand Shetty, widely recognised for his formidable role as Senior Inspector Daya in the long-running television series CID, disclosed some astonishing details about the opulent demands of certain Bollywood celebrities. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shetty shed light on the peculiar trend of A-listers bringing their pampered pooches to film sets, not just for companionship, but with an elaborate entourage that includes dedicated pet nannies and even canine cosmetics.

Dayanand Shetty on Bollywood Stars’ Dogs Coming with Nannies to Sets

During his chat with popular host Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel in late August 2026, Dayanand Shetty was prompted to discuss the extensive entourages accompanying stars. He frankly stated, “That is the type of upbringing they have. They think that to show they are stars, they need to act this way.” Shetty then elaborated on the burgeoning trend of stars bringing their pets to work. “Lots of stars will bring their dogs on the set. In the middle of the shoot, they will ask that their dog be brought to them, and they will spend some time playing with the dog,” he revealed with a smile.

The actor went on to paint a vivid picture of the dogs’ on-set treatment: “The dog will have their nanny to walk them and feed them. The dog will be dressed well and wear sunglasses. They also put some makeup on the dog and bring them,” Shetty shared. When asked about his personal take on this extravagant practice, the 56-year-old actor quipped, “The dog is really lucky. If you think about it too hard, then it will hurt you. Otherwise it won’t bother you.” The interview, posted around August 21-22, 2026, quickly garnered significant attention, highlighting the often-unseen facets of celebrity life.

CID Trio Reunites for ‘Paapanasham’

Away from the glitz and glamour of celebrity pet care, Dayanand Shetty is also making headlines for an exciting professional reunion. He, along with his beloved CID co-stars Shivaji Satam (ACP Pradyuman) and Aditya Srivastava (Senior Inspector Abhijeet), is set to appear in a brand-new crime-based series titled ‘Paapanasham: Where Crime Ends’. The news of this much-anticipated reunion was announced by Shetty himself on Instagram on September 22, 2026.

The new show, which also features other CID alumni like Ansha Sayed, Hrishikesh Pandey, and Ajay Nagrath, promises a fresh take on the crime genre. While the familiar faces are back, they will not be reprising their roles as CID officers, instead taking on “a different avatar.” ‘Paapanasham’ commenced its shoot in Mangalore, Udupi, and is being produced under Dayanand Shetty’s own banner, The Daya Shetty Productions.

Fans eager to catch the iconic team back in action can look forward to streaming Paapanasham on Dayanand Shetty’s YouTube channel, which he launched in December 2025 as a dedicated platform for such content.
