Malwa Utsav 2026: CM Mohan Yadav, who reached Malwa Utsav and Mango Jatra in Indore, gave a big message regarding culture, farmers and small traders. An announcement of Rs 5 lakh assistance and incentive amount to farmers was also made in the silver jubilee ceremony.

This time the Malwa Utsav organized in Indore was not limited to just cultural programmes, rather it emerged as a big platform for social harmony, folk culture and local economy. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in this grand event celebrating the Silver Jubilee year and said that fairs and festivals are the strongest medium to connect the society. The Chief Minister praised the Malwa Utsav organized by Lok Sanskriti Manch, calling it a “festival of reconciliation, intimacy and cultural unity”. During this, he also announced an assistance amount of Rs 5 lakh to the organizers.

In this cultural festival organized in Indore, artists from different states of the country made the atmosphere lively with folk dance and cultural presentations. The performances of Bhangra, Garba, Badhaai and traditional folk dances enthralled the audience. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that it seemed as if “heaven had come down to earth.” He said that India’s diverse culture is its biggest strength and such events further strengthen this unity.

Small artists and shopkeepers get a big platform

In his address, the Chief Minister said that events like Malwa Utsav are not just entertainment but also linked to the livelihood of thousands of people. Small artists, handicraftsmen, cart operators, swing traders and local shopkeepers become economically stronger through these events. He said that through cultural events, local art and traditions get a new market, which also benefits small businessmen.

Market decorated with the smell of Hapus mangoes in Mango Jatra

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also participated in the three-day “Mango Jatra” organized at the Rural Haat Bazaar complex of Indore. Here the famous Hapus (Alphonso) mangoes of Ratnagiri and Deogarh of Maharashtra are being exhibited and sold. The Chief Minister inspected various stalls and interacted with mango producing farmers and appreciated their efforts. He said that “Hapus mangoes of Devgarh and Ratnagiri reaching the market of Malwa is a symbol of cultural and economic unity of the country.”

Farmers received incentive amount

The Chief Minister announced an incentive amount of Rs 11 thousand each to 24 mango producing farmers. Farmers told that they have been participating in Mango Jatra for the last 15 years. CM said that such events connect farmers directly with customers, due to which they get fair price for their produce and fresh and quality products are available to the consumers.

Mango products become center of attraction

In Mango Jatra, products made from mango like ice cream, shake, sweets, aamras, chutney, jam, squash and candy are attracting people a lot. Apart from this, stalls of handmade spices, papad, pickles and Khadi products have also become the center of discussion among the people. A large number of people are coming to these stalls to shop and enjoy the taste.

Government’s focus on “Farmers Welfare Year”

The Chief Minister said that the Madhya Pradesh government is celebrating this year as “Farmers Welfare Year”. The government is continuously working to increase the income of farmers and to provide markets to local products. He said that events like Mango Jatra and Malwa Utsav not only strengthen cultural identity but also give new direction to the local economy and social participation.
