Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) [भारत]July 18 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday reviewed the preparations for the safe and peaceful conduct of Kanwar Yatra of Shravan month with police and administrative officials of Meerut and Saharanpur divisions at Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium, Collectorate.
According to a release, he gave clear instructions that no negligence in security, cleanliness or traffic management will be tolerated during the yatra. He directed the officers to take immediate and strict action against anti-social elements spreading rumors on social media and immediately refute the misinformation.
Emphasis on security and surveillance
The Chief Minister directed, “All concerned departments should complete their preparations before the commencement of the Kanwar Yatra. Adequate police force should be deployed along the entire yatra route. CCTV cameras should be installed at key places and constant monitoring should be done through drones.” He directed the Divisional Commissioners of Meerut and Saharanpur to regularly review the preparations. CM Yogi Adityanath said, “During the Kanwar Yatra, constant coordination should be maintained with the authorities of neighboring states including Delhi, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan, so that any situation can be dealt with effectively.”

He directed that the sound level of the DJ should not exceed the prescribed limit and the height of the Kanwars should also remain within the prescribed standards so that there is no obstruction to the traffic movement. He directed the officials to maintain constant communication with DJ operators, Kanwar makers and Kanwar associations for this purpose.
These facilities will be available on the routes
The Chief Minister directed the Public Works Department and Irrigation Department to make the travel routes pothole free on time and ensure cleanliness of bushes. “Cleanliness should be maintained on the entire route and no garbage should be visible anywhere. Proper arrangements for street lighting, drinking water, toilets, electricity, sanitation and fresh, sattvik food should be ensured in Kanwar camps,” he said.
Strict instructions to officials
He issued clear instructions that all meat and liquor shops on the Kanwar Yatra route should remain closed and constant monitoring should be done to ensure compliance. The transport department was directed to ensure that no driver drives under the influence of alcohol. The electricity department was directed to closely monitor transformers and power lines to prevent any accidents.
Coordination and publicity with public representatives
The Chief Minister directed the officials to maintain constant coordination with public representatives and ensure immediate resolution of local issues. He also directed that with the help of the Information Department, welcome gates and hoardings should be installed for Kanwar pilgrims and various public welfare schemes should be widely publicized. Senior administrative and police officers of Meerut and Saharanpur divisions were present in the meeting. (ANI)
