Euro Tech has chosen Sea Clean AS to launch its hybrid ballast water port reception and treatment solution. The Norwegian partner will oversee on-site operational services for future vessel needs and provide the land to accommodate the facility, which will be adjacent to the seashore.

The mobile facility is expected to be shipped to Sea Clean’s port site in Torvasted, Norway, in early next month, the company said.

Ballast water helps maintain buoyancy and stabilize a shipping vessel, and its treatment is essential, as it might carry invasive species during transportation, which could impact aquatic life in different parts of the globe.

Euro Tech is a Hong Kong-based engineering and laboratory equipment company which has recently pivoted into maritime solutions, aiming to capture market share in the European and ASEAN shipping industry.

The company expects Sea Clean to help it gain a foothold in the niche maritime sector and open doors for sales and new business partnerships in Norway and possibly other Nordic markets. It is also planning to showcase its latest offering at SMM 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, the largest maritime trade show, which kicks off in September this year.
