Raigarh. Raigarh Municipal Corporation launched a special campaign in Sanjay Market area to make the city encroachment free, keep the traffic system smooth and remove obstacles in cleaning the drains. During this period, a total fine of Rs 22,500 was imposed against 20 establishments that affected traffic by keeping goods on public roads. The Municipal Corporation made it clear that encroachment or blockage of roads and drains will not be tolerated under any circumstances and action will continue in such cases.

Fine on 20 establishments, corporation’s action against rule breakers

During the campaign, financial penalty was imposed on those encroaching by keeping goods on the road outside various shops. Under the action, a fine of Rs 1,000 each was imposed on Alina Food Wear, Dilawar Shoes, Suresh Garment, Saheli Dresses, Harish Mehar, Shoes House, Maiful Dresses, Chand Shoes, Shoes Gallery, Gujral Medical, Galaxy Bags, Grand Shoes, Suhail Bags, Bubbles, Suhagan and Anupam Electronic. A fine of Rs 2,000 each was imposed on Kwality Store, Ankit Sale and Bombay Fashion Bazaar, while a fine of Rs 500 was imposed on Ravindra Pratisthan. Thus a total punitive action of Rs 22,500 was taken.

Goods kept on the road become a hindrance in cleaning the drains.

According to the Municipal Corporation, keeping goods on public roads not only affects the movement of people but also hampers the regular cleaning of drains along the main roads. Officials say that timely cleaning of drains is very important during the rainy season. Due to encroachment on the roadside, sanitation workers face a lot of difficulty in doing their work, due to which the drainage system can also be affected.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner requested cooperation from traders

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Brijesh Singh Kshatriya said that encroachment by keeping goods on the public road is a violation of the rules of the Municipal Corporation. This not only affects traffic but also disrupts cleanliness. He said that such campaigns will continue in the future to make the city clean, organized and accessible.

Appeal to remove encroachment and maintain cleanliness

The Commissioner appealed to all the traders to voluntarily remove the goods kept outside their establishments and cooperate in the campaign of the Municipal Corporation. He said that the city can be made clean, safe and orderly only with the cooperation of citizens and businessmen. The Municipal Corporation will continue to take strict action against those who violate the rules in future also.
