Devshayani Ekadashi 2026: Every year the fast of Devshayani Ekadashi is observed on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month. According to Drik Panchang, this year the fast of Devshayani Ekadashi will be observed on 25th July. Chaturmas will start from this day. Because Lord Vishnu will go into Yoga Nidra. Then Lord will rise on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. Devshayani Ekadashi is very special, because it is considered the time of sleep of Lord Vishnu as well as the gods.

During these four months of Chaturmas, all auspicious and auspicious works including marriage are stopped. However, the importance of fasting and worship of Devshayani Ekadashi does not diminish due to Lord Vishnu going into Yoga Nidra. Chaturmas 2026

On the day of Devshayani Ekadashi, Lord Shri Vishnu goes to the underworld of demon king Bali for rest. Stay there for full four months. During this time God is freed from the responsibilities of the world. These four months of Shri Hari’s sleeping period are called Chaturmas. These four months include Shravan, Bhadrapada, Ashwin and Kartik months.
