Sowing of Kharif 2026 has intensified with the monsoon in Chhattisgarh. The government has given instructions to provide record fertilizers, seeds, agricultural loans and all necessary facilities to the farmers.

Raipur. With the increase in monsoon activity in the state, Kharif season farming has gained momentum. Sowing work in the fields is going on at a fast pace and the state government is continuously monitoring it to ensure timely availability of necessary resources to the farmers. In this Kharif season, a target has been set for sowing in 48.69 lakh hectare area in the state, in which till now sowing has been completed in about 4.77 lakh hectare area. According to the Agriculture Department, about 10 percent of the total target work has been completed.

Instructions to provide all possible facilities to farmers, special monitoring on fertilizer and seed distribution

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has instructed the officials that farmers should not face any kind of problem in farming. He has given instructions to ensure availability of certified fertilizers and seeds as per demand, to keep the distribution system transparent and to take strict action against any kind of negligence.

The Chief Minister has also said that adequate quantity of fertilizers and seeds should be stored in all cooperative societies and societies and the entire system should be continuously monitored. Under the guidance of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Agriculture Department officials are keeping a regular eye on this entire process.

Record distribution of fertilizers and certified seeds to farmers in Kharif 2026.

According to the Agriculture Department, till now 7.28 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers and 3.09 lakh quintals of certified seeds have been provided to the farmers of the state. With the good start of monsoon, sowing of crops like paddy, maize, kodo, kutki, arhar, moong, groundnut and ramtil is continuously increasing in the fields. So far, sowing of various crops has been completed in the state as per the target of about 10 percent and it is likely to increase further in the coming days.

96.4 mm average rainfall recorded so far in the state

Agriculture Department officials said that till July 2, 2026, an average rainfall of 96.4 mm has been recorded in the state. Whereas the average annual rainfall of Chhattisgarh is considered to be 1246.3 mm. Due to increasing activity of monsoon, sowing of Kharif crops is continuously gaining momentum.

62 percent of certified seed distribution target accomplished

For Kharif 2026, the Seed Corporation has set a target of distributing 4.95 lakh quintals of certified seeds in the state. For this, 4.30 lakh quintals of seeds have been stored so far. In the present situation, 3.09 lakh quintals of certified seeds have been distributed to the farmers, which is about 62 percent of the total demand. During the same period last year, 2.67 lakh quintals of certified seeds were distributed. This time the distribution figure is more than last year.

Fertilizer storage and distribution also accelerated

A target of distribution of 15.55 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers has been set during the Kharif season in the state. In comparison, 13.16 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers have been stored so far in the cooperative and private sector. From this storage, 7.28 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers have been distributed to the farmers so far, which is about 47 percent of the set target.

Agricultural loan distribution increased through Kisan Credit Card

The state government is also providing short-term agricultural loans through Kisan Credit Card with the aim of providing financial assistance to farmers for farming. Agricultural loans worth Rs 5525 crore have been distributed to farmers till June 30, 2026. In the same period last year, this figure was Rs 4517 crore. This year the government has set a target of providing a total agricultural loan of Rs 8800 crore to the farmers.

Government’s full focus on accelerating agriculture

The effort of the state government is to ensure that farmers get all the necessary facilities like manure, seeds, fertilizers and agricultural loans on time during the Kharif season. For this, departmental officers have been instructed to continuously monitor and ensure availability of resources as per requirement, so that farmers’ farming can proceed without any hindrance.
