The makers of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10 have finally unveiled the first promo featuring host Vijay Sethupathi. Released on June 1, 2026, the promo introduces a big new twist to the popular reality show with the launch of the ‘Common Man’ concept.

This move of introducing ‘Common Man’ concept is an exit from the other seasons which largely focused on celebrities from the entertainment industry. Through the new format, viewers will get to see contestants from different walks of life sharing their stories, personalities and perspectives inside the Bigg Boss house.

The promo features Vijay Sethupathi making a stylish entry before announcing that the upcoming season will offer something completely different. This season will show ordinary citizens adapt to the challenges, tasks and pressures of the reality show and it is likely to connect with audience more.
Vijay Sethupathi Continues As Host
Vijay Sethupathi took over hosting duties from Season 8 and has continued to lead the show ever since. Before him, veteran actor Kamal Haasan hosted Bigg Boss Tamil from its debut season through Season 7. The previous season of the show saw television actor Divya Ganesan emerge as the winner of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9. She took home the winner’s cash prize of Rs 50 lakh, while Gana Vinoth secured the cash box worth Rs 18 lakh. Vikram and Aurora Sinclair finished as the second and third runners-up respectively.

In December 2025, during a promotional event, Vijay Sethupathi admitted that he had little knowledge of hosting such programmes and was not a regular viewer of Bigg Boss. Sharing his thoughts on the show, Sethupathi said he had a different perspective about reality television.
On the professional front, Sethupathi has an exciting lineup of projects, including Train with director Mysskin, Arasan alongside Silambarasan TR under the direction of Vetri Maaran, and Slumdog: 33 Temple Road directed by Puri Jagannadh. The actor was last seen in Gandhi Talks, the silent film released in January 2026, which also starred Aditi Rao Hydari and Arvind Swami in key roles. The much-acclaimed film is streaming on Zee 5.
