Patna (Bihar) [भारत]July 24 (ANI): Former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari is going to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. Tiwari will take membership of BJP at around 3 pm. The formal announcement of his joining the party will be made during the program.
He had recently resigned from the primary membership of RJD citing differences with the party leadership and also quit the party post. Tiwari’s decision to join BJP comes days after he resigned from RJD on July 16.
‘There is no place for loyal workers in RJD’
Mrityunjay Tiwari is a prominent politician from Bihar and a long-time former spokesperson of RJD. On July 16, Tiwari submitted his resignation letter to Bihar RJD President Mangni Lal Mandal. He alleged that there is now “no room for dedicated and loyal workers” in the RJD and that certain factions within the organization have repeatedly humiliated and humiliated him.
Speaking to ANI, Tiwari alleged being humiliated by some sections of the party leadership and urged Bihar Leader of Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav to introspect on the party’s direction, treatment of workers and its internal workings.
‘It is better to separate than to live in disgrace’
After announcing his decision, Tiwari said that he served the RJD with full devotion for two decades, but after facing repeated insults over the past several months, he could no longer do so. Tiwari said, “When Rashtriya Janata Dal was going through its worst phase, national president Lalu Prasad ji called me in 2014 and gave me the responsibility of spokesperson and media in-charge. I fulfilled that responsibility with full devotion and honesty. I saw RJD grow from about 10 MLAs to a party of 80 MLAs. But the way the party has treated a loyal worker who served so faithfully–my patience has now given way. From living in humiliation every day “It is better to part ways.” (ANI)
