Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing a humorous childhood Diwali anecdote. While promoting their upcoming film ‘Ramayana’ on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, actors Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Ravi Dubey joined Bachchan for a special festive episode.
Bachchan, with his trademark wit, recounted to Ranbir Kapoor the friendly rivalry that often accompanied Diwali celebrations in his youth. He explained that if a neighbour’s firecracker went off, the unspoken challenge was to ensure theirs made an even louder sound. Ranbir, curious about Bachchan’s childhood memories, had asked, “Amitabh ji, do you have any memories of Diwali?”
Responding with a nostalgic chuckle, Bachchan shared, “Sir, the only thing I remember about Diwali is that if a firecracker went off at the neighbour’s house, ours had to be louder than theirs.” This light-hearted revelation resonated with many, highlighting the innocent competitive spirit often seen during festive times.
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated epic film ‘Ramayana: Part 1’, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, is set for a worldwide release on November 5, 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, the film promises a grand cinematic experience with music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ Diwali special episode, featuring these stars, is scheduled to air on October 29-30 on Sony Entertainment Television.
