TMC VS NCPI: “The biggest game in TMC! A big blow to Mamata due to the rebellion of 20 MPs?” “Who is the party which changed the entire equation of TMC?” “New party, new alliance… has the fight to take over TMC begun?” “Great earthquake in Mamta’s party! Why did 20 MPs change course?”
New Delhi: There is political turmoil in All India Trinamool Congress (AITC). On Sunday, a large group of the party raised the flag of rebellion. Rebel MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has confirmed that 20 Lok Sabha MPs have joined the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) and will now support the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). After meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Ghosh Dastidar said that his group has demanded separate sitting in Parliament. He claimed that this group is more than two-thirds of the total strength of the party. So let us know what is the party the TMC MP has joined? When was it established and who is the present president of this political party?

When was NCPI formed and who is its president?
Let us tell you that Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) is an unrecognized political party of Tripura state. This party was recognized for West Bengal with the Election Commission (ECI) on 20 January 2023. After being registered in Bengal, this party contested the first assembly elections in Tripura. Presently the President of NCPI is Uttiya Kundu. His wife Shewali Kundu is its treasurer. But this party is being discussed the most when the rebel MPs of TMC left Mamata Banerjee and announced their merger with this party.
NCPI now joins NDA
Speaking to ANI, Dastidar said, “We, twenty MPs elected from AITC, met the Speaker and have given a letter demanding to sit separately. These twenty MPs are more than two-thirds of our total strength. We are merging with the Nationalist Citizens Party. Going forward, we will work for the country with the NDA under the leadership of the Prime Minister.”
Rebel TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay said, “We have joined the Nationalist Citizens Party. It is a political party, a recognized regional party. We have merged with it. He said that the Lok Sabha Speaker has verified their signatures for demanding separate sitting and has accepted that they have two-third majority. He made it clear that in July, the rebel MPs will also stake claim on the name of the party, i.e. Trinamool Congress. He said, “Om Birla verified all the 20 signatures. It is now 2/3. This is the system. When you leave with 2/3 of the party, you cannot demand the name of the party on the very first day. In July we will demand that Trinamool be given to us because we have 2/3 majority from Trinamool. Then the court will decide.” Who is the real TMC, it will be decided in the court. “
