BCB cancels NOCs for Mustafizur Rahman, Nahid Rana for remainder of PSL 2026

New Delhi: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday cancelled the No-objection certificates for   and Nahid Rana for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Mustafizur and Rana were representing Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi, respectively, before they were called for the Bangladesh-New Zealand ODI series at home.

Earlier it was reported by Cricbuzz that Mustafizur had been granted an NOC from March 26 to April 12 and for a second time from April 24 to May 3 as he was due to play the ODIs only against the Kiwis and not the T20Is. Mustafizur, who missed the opening two matches of three-game series due to an injury, returned to the playing XI in the series decider where he claimed a five-wicket haul.

But after the culmination of the third match, the BCB infirmed not the cricketers that they would not be going back for the PSL.

BCB withdraws NOC

‘The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wishes to inform that, following the conclusion of the 3rd ODI against New Zealand, the team’s medical staff has reviewed the condition of national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman,’ BCB said in a statement.

‘It has been decided that the player will undergo an immediate scan to further assess his condition, after which he will commence a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB Medical Team,’ it said.

‘In this regard, the Board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026,’ it added.

Furthermore, it was also notified by the BCB that they would not be releasing Rana either for the PSL as he would need much time to prepare for the Test series against Pakistan next month. While Rana would be playing next month, Mustafizur in all likelihood will play the white-ball matches against Australia in June.
