CM Mohan Yadav: After the Bargi cruise accident, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Jabalpur and met the families of the victims. Hugging the children and consoling the families, he assured that strict action will be taken against the culprits and a new SOP will be made for adventure tourism.
After the Bargi Cruise accident in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, the atmosphere appeared very emotional on Thursday. There was pain in someone’s eyes of losing their loved ones, while someone was still scared remembering that dreadful night. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached to meet the families of the victims, where many pictures touched the hearts of the people. At some places he hugged small children, at some places he consoled a daughter by placing her hand on her head. After the Bargi Dam accident, this visit of the Chief Minister is being seen not just as a formal meeting but as an attempt to establish trust among the grieving families. During this, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora and Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh were also present with him.

After reaching Jabalpur, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav went directly to the families who lost their loved ones in this accident. He said that in this hour of crisis, the state government stands with every affected family and no victim will be left alone. The Chief Minister reached the house of deceased Neetu Soni located on Darhai Marg from Kotwali. Here the daughter of the family could not stop her tears. Amidst the emotional atmosphere, the CM consoled him by placing his hand on his head. He tried to share the pain of the small children of the family by hugging them. After this, the Chief Minister also reached the house of Riyaz Hussain, who had a narrow escape in this accident.

“I thought I wouldn’t survive.”
While talking to the media, the Chief Minister told that Riyaz Hussain remained stuck in the cruise for several hours during the accident. During the meeting with him, Riyaz said that he had started feeling that now his life might not be saved. CM said that bodies of 9 people have been recovered so far in the Bargi Dam accident, while 28 people have been rescued safely. He said that the administration became active immediately after the incident and SDRF, NDRF and other relief teams reached the spot. Employees working in Jal Jeevan Mission also played an important role in the rescue operation.
51-51 thousand rupees to those who show bravery
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav appreciated the local people who helped save others by risking their lives. He announced that such people will be given an honorarium of Rs 51,000 each. Along with this, the state government has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. At the same time, an assistance of Rs 2 lakh each has been announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

There will be a high level investigation into the accident
The Chief Minister clearly said that the culprits of this accident will not be spared at any cost. He said that a high level committee is being formed to investigate the matter. This committee will include Director General of Home Guard and Civil Defense Department, Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Government and Commissioner of Jabalpur Division. The investigation will focus on three main points-
- What was the real reason for the accident
- How did the situation develop at the time of the accident?
- Whether security protocols were followed or not
The Chief Minister said that after the investigation report comes, strict action will be taken against the culprits.

SOP will be made for adventure sports and cruise tourism
After the Bargi accident, the state government is now preparing to further tighten the rules for adventure tourism and cruise operations. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that to prevent such incidents in future, a separate SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) will be prepared for boat tourism, cruise tourism and adventure sports. He also appealed to the people to take the warnings of the Meteorological Department seriously.
