Banks will remain closed for 4 days next week

If you have any work related to depositing cash, check clearance or loan by going to the bank branch next week, then this news is very important for you. According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), between July 6 and July 12, work in banks will be halted for a total of four days in different parts of the country. These holidays include regional festivals as well as the regular holiday of second Saturday of the month and Sunday. However, it is a matter of relief that during this period customers will not have to worry about digital facilities like UPI, Net Banking.

Holidays starting from 6th July

The week itself is beginning with the closure. On Monday, July 6, banks will remain locked in Mizoram’s capital Aizawl on the occasion of MHIP Day. On the same day, in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, bank employees will be on holiday due to the birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Keep in mind that this closure is limited to these two cities only. In all the other states of the country, banking operations will continue smoothly like normal days.

Locks will not open in this city on 9th July

Banking operations in North-East India will once again be affected in the middle of the week. Thursday, July 9, has been declared a public holiday in Meghalaya’s capital Shillong due to the local festival ‘Beh Denkhlam’. Since this is a completely regional festival, its impact will be seen only on the branches of Shillong. If any of your financial transactions or direct branch related work is related to Meghalaya, then plan your plans accordingly. Banks in other parts of India will open at scheduled time on this day.

Two consecutive days of closure across the country on weekends

Customers across the country will have to face bank closure on weekends after regional holidays. The second Saturday of the month is falling on 11th July. According to the rules of the Reserve Bank, all government and private banks across the country remain completely closed on the second and fourth Saturdays. The next day on 12th July there will be a regular weekly holiday of Sunday. This simply means that no work will be done in the branch for two consecutive days on weekends. Those depositing huge checks will have to complete their rush by Friday only.

Complete important work on working day

In this entire week, 7th July (Tuesday), 8th July (Wednesday) and 10th July (Friday) are the days when banking services will be fully restored in most of the states. However, it is a matter of relief that despite the bank being shuttered, your digital life will not stop. Mobile banking, internet banking, UPI, NEFT, RTGS as well as ATM services will remain operational 24 hours a day without any interruption. You can do online transactions, bill payment or shopping without any hesitation sitting at home.
