Pakistani media has claimed that BCCI has invited Pakistani Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to watch the IPL 2026 final, which is part of the ICC board meeting to be held in Ahmedabad.
Actually, ICC board meeting is to be held in Ahmedabad on 30-31 May. This meeting was earlier to be held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, but due to the circumstances created by the military conflict in Western Asia, it was decided to organize this meeting in Ahmedabad. Mohsin Naqvi has to participate in this meeting from Pakistan’s side because he is the representative of Pakistan in the ICC Board.
According to reports, due to this Mohsin Naqvi has been invited to attend the meeting. This invitation is natural but the shocking claim made in Pakistani media is that along with this meeting, BCCI has also invited Naqvi to watch the IPL final, which is to be played on May 31 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
This claim has raised questions whether Naqvi will come to India for the meeting and IPL final? According to the report, this invitation received by Naqvi has been sent to Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who will take the final decision on it. Let us tell you that Naqvi is not only the Chief of PCB, but he is also posted on an important post like Interior Minister in the government of Shahbaz Sharif in Pakistan.
Now whether Naqvi comes or becomes a part of this meeting online, it will be worth watching. Since Naqvi’s arrival, tension has increased between the cricket boards of India and Pakistan. One reason for this is Naqvi’s behavior as the President of the Asian Cricket Council. After winning the Asia Cup title last year, Team India had refused to take the trophy from Naqvi’s hands. Naqvi himself was adamant on giving the trophy and then he took the trophy to his hotel. From here he locked the trophy in the ACC office in Dubai and since then this dispute has not been resolved yet.
