Ashok Kharat Case Latest Updates: Ashok Kharat, the so-called Bhondubaba of Nashik, used to cheat people in the name of telling their fortunes. There are also serious allegations against him of exploitation of women. But now the situation has become such that he himself is not able to see his future and he is afraid of his death. Meanwhile, his close associate Jitendra Shelke’s wife dies in a tragic car accident, making the whole matter more serious.
Attempt to delete mobile data failed, evidence seized by police
During investigation, it came to light that Ashok Kharat had deleted many photos, chats, videos and phone numbers from his mobile so that the evidence could be erased. However, with the help of forensic lab and cyber experts, all this data has been recovered. Now, based on this data, there is a possibility of many big revelations, such as – who was Kharat in contact with, what were his financial connections and who played a role in this entire network? This can be a big shock to those people, who till now were calling themselves separate from this case.
Custody may increase after court appearance
Ashok Kharat, implicated in fraud charges, will again be produced in the court today through video conferencing (VC). In the fourth case he has already got judicial custody till 30th. Now he has to appear in the fifth case also. The SIT is likely to extend his custody. The investigating agencies are continuously interrogating him and new facts are coming to light.
6 SITs together in Nashik, investigating several scams
Considering the seriousness of this entire matter, 6 Special Investigation Teams (SIT) have been formed together in Nashik. Separate cases involving Ashok Kharat are being investigated, including:
- Shalarth ID Scam
- TCS Conversion Case
- MHADA Plot Scam
- Trimbakeshwar Darshan Scam
- Other fraud and exploitation cases
- Apart from this, the State Women’s Commission has also constituted an independent SIT.
Impact on Nashik’s image, resentment among people
Nashik, which is known for tourism, religious importance, Kumbh city and wine capital, the occurrence of such big cases simultaneously has become a matter of concern. Working of six SITs simultaneously is affecting the image of the city, due to which resentment is also being seen among the local people.
