He spoke about how nostalgic he was feeling upon shooting at the same location again. He had played Shah Rukh Khan’s father in the movie.

“I have come to a railway station, an iconic scene of an iconic film was shot here, it is an Indian cinema history that every Indian all over the world must have seen and remembered. The scene is from ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge‘. It’s like going to Sicily for a sequence of ‘The Godfather’. These are iconic places…Thankful to Yash ji and Adi, for having me in an iconic film.”

To him, it didn’t feel as though so many decades had passed since the film had been released. Standing at   again made him feel as though time had stilled and he could be transported back to that moment.

His awe didn’t end there, though. He went on to talk about how the movie wasn’t just a piece of media. He also urged the government to turn the station into a tourist spot that everyone could enjoy and relive. Cinema can often act as a reflection of time, and internationally too, there are times when film locations are turned into landmarks, so why should India miss out on the opportunity?

The station itself is just as iconic as the film, holding onto a part of what made it so good in the first place.
