On Ambedkar Jayanti 2026, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav paid tribute to Baba Saheb in Bhopal. Recalling her contribution to the making of the Constitution and equality, he emphasized on the government’s schemes and efforts for women empowerment.

Bhopal. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid tribute to the statue at Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar Square located at the Board Office in Bhopal on the occasion of his 136th birth anniversary by garlanding and paying floral tributes. A large number of public representatives and citizens were present on this occasion.

Contribution of Dr. Ambedkar: Creator of Modern India

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s contribution in building modern India is incomparable and unforgettable. By drafting the Indian Constitution, he laid the foundation of equality and justice in the country and ensured the protection of rights of all citizens.

Reading of the Preamble of the Constitution and slogans

During the programme, the Chief Minister read out the Preamble of the Indian Constitution along with those present and raised slogans of “Long live Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar”. He said that Baba Saheb raised his voice for the rights of the deprived, oppressed and exploited classes throughout his life.

Government’s resolution: Work on harmony and equality

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working for harmony and equality keeping in mind the ideals of Baba Saheb. He reiterated the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that united efforts are necessary to take the country forward.

Development works and schemes in the name of Baba Saheb

The Chief Minister said that the government has always respected Baba Saheb. A flying bridge in Bhopal is named after him. A grand memorial has been built in his birthplace Mhow. Apart from this, Kamdhenu Yojana, Sagar Sanctuary and Economic Welfare Scheme have also been started in his name. Dr. Ambedkar Dham is also being built in Gwalior.

Development of Panchatirtha: Honoring the memories of Ambedkar

The Chief Minister said that the Central Government has developed five major places associated with Baba Saheb—Janmabhoomi (Mhow), Shiksha Bhoomi (London), Diksha Bhoomi (Nagpur), Mahaparinirvana Bhoomi (Delhi) and Chaitya Bhoomi (Mumbai)—as Panchtirtha. These places are a symbol of their struggle and ideals.

Ambedkar’s role and current efforts in women empowerment

The Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb made special efforts for women’s education and their rights. Today the country is moving in the same direction. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ is being discussed, under which there is a provision to give 33 percent reservation to women in Parliament and Assemblies. This step will prove to be historic in the direction of empowering women.
