LG Manoj Sinha said that the discussion with senior officials focused on the movement of pilgrims, security measures, accommodation facilities and progress of registration. In an X post he said he also interacted with the pilgrims and assured them of a safe and hassle-free journey.

LG Sinha wrote, “Today, I visited Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam along with senior officials to review the management of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The discussions focused on key aspects including movement of pilgrims, security measures, accommodation facilities, progress of registration and other logistics requirements required for a hassle-free holy yatra.”

Digital Surveillance and RFID Tracking

The 57-day pilgrimage is being heavily monitored using digital surveillance and RFID tracking systems to ensure crowd management and safety. The annual yatra is scheduled to end with the festival of Raksha Bandhan on August 28. The fourth batch of pilgrims had successfully left from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu on Sunday morning.

SDRF set up 24×7 emergency camp

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Response Force has set up a 24×7 emergency response camp on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway to ensure the safety of pilgrims during the Amarnath Yatra.

According to Kartar Singh, Sub-Inspector, J&K SDRF, the camp has been set up under the instructions of the Additional Director General of Police. Sub-Inspector Singh told ANI on Saturday, “Our team has at least 20 personnel, including members of both SDRF and Home Guards. This camp has been set up under the instructions of the ADG, and we are deployed on the national highway for the pilgrimage.” (ANI)
