New Delhi [भारत]July 12 (ANI): The government has called an all-party meeting on July 19, a day before the start of the monsoon session of Parliament. At this meeting, the government is likely to outline its legislative agenda and the opposition parties are likely to put forward the issues they intend to raise during the session.

Officials said that this all-party meeting, held before every Parliament session, will start at 11 am. The government has a big legislative agenda and several important bills are expected to be discussed during the session.

Turmoil in opposition parties

This session is expected to be tumultuous, as recent weeks have seen cracks and ‘splits’ within some opposition parties. After the defeat in the assembly elections, there is turmoil in the Trinamool Congress, whose 20 MPs have merged with the ‘National Citizens Party of India’. He has demanded separate sitting in the Lok Sabha. Three MPs from the party have resigned from their Rajya Sabha seats and joined the BJP. There has been a further ‘split’ in the Shiv Sena (UBT), with six of the party’s MPs in the Lok Sabha joining the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Seven AAP MPs in Rajya Sabha have already joined BJP.

Opposition will raise the issue of NEET and Operation Sindoor

The opposition is likely to raise the NEET-UG paper leak issue and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s comments on casualties in Operation Sindoor. Congress has given a notice of breach of privilege against the Defense Minister.

The session will run from 20th July to 13th August

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had earlier said that the monsoon session of Parliament will run from July 20 to August 13. “On the recommendation of the Government of India, Hon’ble President Smt. Draupadi Murmu Ji has approved the convening of both Houses of Parliament for the Monsoon Session 2026. The session will commence on July 20, 2026 and will continue till August 13, 2026 for meaningful debate, discussion and decisions on issues of national importance,” Rijiju said in a post on Twitter.

JPC Report and 130th Constitution Amendment Bill

The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) examining the proposed 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill is also expected to adopt its report on July 17, which will be tabled in Parliament. The bill has sparked political debate over a provision that provides for automatic removal of the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers and Union or State ministers from office if they remain in judicial custody for 30 consecutive days in cases involving serious crimes.
