The airline issued a statement saying that the delivery flight of this aircraft had started from Seattle, America. From there it reached Reykjavik in Iceland and then via Cairo in Egypt and reached Bengaluru in India. This Boeing 737 Max 8-200 aircraft with registration number VT-YBP landed at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on June 22.

Special seats are provided for passengers

  • The airline says that this aircraft has been specially designed according to the needs of Akasa. In this, full care has been taken of the comfort of the passengers. The aircraft is fitted with Safran Z200 seats, which have been designed to make the journey comfortable.
  • These seats have the facility to recline up to four inches and their design is also quite ergonomic. Also, keeping in mind the needs of today’s passengers, USB-C and USB-A ports have also been provided on every seat so that they can charge their devices.

  • Akasa Air aims to be among the top 30 airlines in the world by the end of this decade. According to the statement, the company has placed a firm order for 226 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. Currently, 187 more aircraft are to be delivered in the next six years.
  • Earlier on Tuesday, the airline had taken another major step in its network expansion strategy. Akasa launched its operations from Noida International Airport (NIA), further strengthening its footprint in the National Capital Region (NCR). NCR is one of the largest aviation markets in India.

First flight from Noida Airport

  • The airline’s first flight departed from Navi Mumbai International Airport at 7:25 am on June 16 and reached Noida International Airport at 9:35 pm. At the same time, the first flight from Noida International Airport departed at 10:15 am and landed at Navi Mumbai International Airport at 12:30 pm.
  • With this, Akasa Air has become one of the first few airlines to start commercial services from Noida International Airport.
