Sometimes in life, some unknown people help in such a way that the faith in humanity becomes even stronger. One such story is winning people’s hearts on social media. A man named Ankit Pandey booked a flight ticket worth Rs 4,000 through a Zomato delivery partner so that he could meet his mother admitted in the ICU. Ankit himself has shared this heart touching story on social media.

Ankit told that a delivery partner often came to his house to deliver food. That day also he brought delivery. But after the food was served, he hesitantly asked for a glass of water. When Ankit called him inside to give him water, he saw that his eyes were swollen and he was crying.

When asked, the delivery partner told that his mother had fallen in the morning and her condition is critical, she is in the ICU. He had to go home, but the next train was at 11 pm, which would take about 30 hours to reach. Crying he said, ‘Brother…I don’t know whether I will be able to see mother alive or not.’ Ankit came to know that he had not eaten anything since morning. Ankit ate the food he had ordered while sitting with the delivery partner. After this, he checked flights on SkyScanner and found a ticket for around Rs 4,000. Ankit booked that ticket without any delay.

When the delivery partner told that he had never been to the airport, Ankit sent one of his friends to help him. Within a few hours he reached his home and met his mother. He called Ankit and told him that his mother’s condition was improving. The next morning, the delivery partner called Ankit again and told, ‘Brother… Mummy is out of danger now. The doctor said she will come home in 4-5 days. Along with this, he sent back Rs 4,000 of the ticket to Ankit. But Ankit immediately sent the money back to him and told him to use it for his mother’s treatment. The delivery partner said emotionally, ‘Brother… mother got courage the moment she saw me. If you had not helped, I would not have been able to reach home on time.

Ankit wrote in his post, ‘Sometimes crores of rupees are not needed to change someone’s life, a glass of water, a meal and a ticket home are enough. Be kind, you never know when you may become an angel for someone. He also said that the greatest return on money is not getting it back, but the feeling that you were able to help someone in their time of greatest need.
