Expensive diet of chickens increased the prices of eggs, price of chicken also increased!

If you eat eggs daily then this news is important for you. The prices of eggs are continuously increasing across the country and in many places an egg is now being sold for Rs 8.5 to Rs 9. The poultry industry says that the biggest reason for this is the rising price of poultry feed. However, the industry is hopeful that there may be some relief in prices from the end of July.

Poultry companies say that maize, soybean cake and some essential feed ingredients coming from abroad, used in chicken feed, have become very expensive. A major reason for this is the ongoing conflict in West Asia, which has affected imports and supplies.

Corn and soybean increased expenses

According to data from the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC), the ex-farm price of eggs in Hyderabad has increased by 15% in a month and by almost 40% compared to last year. According to poultry company Venkateshwara Hatcheries, almost everything used in poultry feed has become expensive since March. About 55% of the feed for chickens is maize. Here it has become more expensive by more than 35% after March. The share of soybean cake is about 22%. Its price has increased by more than 64%. Apart from this, the price of essential amino acids used in feed has increased 3.5 times since March.

What is the reason for increasing prices?

The demand for maize is no longer limited to just the poultry industry. Ethanol manufacturing companies are also purchasing maize in large quantities. Due to this its prices have increased. On the other hand, this year’s irregular monsoon has increased the concern of farmers and industry. There is a possibility that the production of Kharif and Rabi crops will be affected due to timely and uniform rainfall. Another reason for the increase in soybean prices is last year’s low production. According to the industry, soybean production in India was about 20% less last year. If the monsoon remains weak this year too, production may decrease further, due to which prices may increase further.

Chicken also becomes expensive due to extreme heat

This year, the scorching heat that lasted till June had an impact not only on eggs but also on chickens. Due to extreme heat, the production of broiler chicken decreased, due to which the price of chicken increased in the market. According to industry data, the retail price of chicken has reached Rs 250 to Rs 260 per kg in many cities.

When can we get relief?

The poultry industry is hopeful that there may be some reduction in the prices of eggs from the end of July. The reason for this is that during the month of Sawan in North India, a large number of people reduce the consumption of eggs and meat for religious reasons. If demand decreases, there is a possibility of softening of prices. However, if the monsoon is not normal and the prices of maize and soybean remain high, then the prices of eggs and chicken may increase again in the coming months.
