Tannaz Irani has been one of the most recognisable faces on Indian television for over three decades now. The actress is known for her natural comic timing and unforgettable performances. While her career includes both big and small screens, along with theatre, her personal life has remained as much a topic as it is often discussed. Tannaz is currently happily married to fellow actor Bakhtyar Irani, despite being seven year elder to him. They tied the knot in 2007 and are proud parents to a girl and a boy. But this was Tannaz’s second marriage. She was previously married to theatre artist Farid Currim. She was just 20 when they exchanged vows. But after eight years of marriage, the couple got divorced in 1993. They have a daughter named Zianne together.

Tannaz Irani opens up on first marriage
In an exclusive interview with TellyTalkIndia/Zoom, Tannaz open up about her first marriage and what led to the divorce. She started by lauding Farid for taking good care of her and giving her Zianne as a daughter.
“I loved that man a lot, to whom I ultimately got married. I followed my dreams. Yes, he was older than me in age. But I think from that, I got the most beautiful thing in my life, my best friend, my daughter,” Tannaz said with a smile.
Calling it all fate, the 54-year-old added, “Whatever you do, there’s a reason, and I think the reason was that I could get my daughter. I have no repentance for what I did. I followed my heart, and I did what I wanted. You have to face every outcome. So, there’s no crying.”

Good things to say about ex-husband
Farid was a lot older than Tannaz. Holding their age difference as the main reason for the difference that ultimately led them to part ways, the actress continued to call her ex-husband a great human being. According to her, “He’s a very nice person. He took very good care of me. Infact, the entire family looked after me. And my own family has always supported me in every decision of my life. Because they know even if they don’t support me, I’ll still do what I want to do. So it’s better to be with me.”
