Oman Air Cancels Flights to 9 Cities Until 8 March, Adds Extra Flights

Travellers flying with Oman Air this week may need to adjust their plans. The airline has cancelled several flights between 6 and 8 March 2026 as ongoing airspace closures across parts of the Middle East continue to affect flight routes.

The disruption is linked to regional airspace restrictions that have forced airlines to cancel or reroute services. While many flights are still operating, several routes have been temporarily suspended.

Flights Cancelled Between 6–8 March

According to the airline, flights to and from the following cities will not operate on 6, 7 and 8 March 2026:

  • Amman
  • Dubai
  • Manama (Bahrain)
  • Doha
  • Dammam
  • Kuwait City
  • Copenhagen
  • Baghdad
  • Khasab

Travellers booked on these routes should check their reservation status or contact the airline to explore rebooking options.

Other Flights Still Operating

The airline says all other flights are operating as scheduled for now. However, the situation remains fluid. Airspace restrictions can change quickly, which means delays or last-minute schedule changes are still possible.

If you’re travelling soon, it’s a good idea to check your flight status before heading to the airport.

Extra Flights Added on Key International Routes

To help manage the disruption and accommodate stranded travellers, Oman Air has also scheduled additional flights on several popular routes.

Extra services will operate between Muscat and:

  • London Heathrow Airport: 7–16 March
  • Istanbul: 9–16 March
  • Bangkok: 8–15 March
  • Kuala Lumpur: 8–11 March
  • Cairo: 8–15 March
  • Mumbai: 7–8 March

These extra flights are expected to help passengers who were affected by cancellations or who need alternative travel options.

Important Advice for Travellers Crossing Land Borders

The airline also issued a warning to passengers planning to cross a land border to reach Muscat for their flight.

Traffic at border crossings remains heavy, and immigration processing may take longer than usual. Travellers are advised to arrive at the border at least 12 hours before their scheduled flight departure to avoid missing their flight.

What Travellers Should Do Now

If you have a trip planned with Oman Air in the coming days, take a few simple steps:

  • Check your flight status before leaving home
  • Allow extra travel time to the airport
  • Contact the airline if your flight has been cancelled
  • Consider rebooking on the additional flights where available

Airspace restrictions across the region are still evolving, so schedules may change quickly.

For now, staying updated and allowing extra time for travel remains the best way to avoid last-minute surprises.
